Our work combines research with executive experience. Together, we bring complementary perspectives developed through decades of helping leaders, teams and organizations navigate growth, change and complex decisions.
Magda du Preez, PhD, Founder & President
Magda du Preez is an organizational psychologist, leadership consultant, and educator who has worked with leaders and teams since 1993. Her work sits at the intersection of leadership, team effectiveness, and decision-making: understanding why capable people sometimes make poor decisions, what gets in the way of teams working well, and what can be done about it.
Her doctoral research examined the relationship between emotion and managerial decision-making and led to her continuing work in Decision Intelligence. She developed the Leadership Competence Indicator and founded SENSE, a Decision Intelligence learning platform. She is also an Associate Professor at Long Island University, where she teaches strategy, organizational behavior, and entrepreneurship.
Magda has worked with Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial ventures, universities, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and not-for-profit institutions in the United States and internationally. She holds a master’s degree in psychology from University of the Orange Free State, South Africa, and a PhD from the Wits Business School, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Clive Crooks, Senior Advisor
Clive Crooks is an executive advisor and leadership coach with more than 30 years of international experience. He has worked with founders, executives, and leadership teams through growth, transformation, and organizational change, both as an advisor and from inside organizations.
Most recently, Clive served as Chief People Officer at Volante Technologies, where he led the people strategy during a period of rapid international growth. His experience spans entrepreneurial ventures, scaling businesses and multinational organizations across North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Through LeadersInVision, Clive works with leaders on the practical challenges of scaling: strengthening leadership capability, building teams that can carry the next stage of growth, and making sure the organization evolves as the business does.
Clive holds a master's in business administration from York University, Canada.
Joan Heynemann, Senior Associate
Joan Heynemann is an organizational psychologist and consultant with extensive experience in leadership development, assessment, organizational design, culture change, and facilitation.
She previously managed the selection and assessment function at Old Mutual South Africa and played a significant role in transforming its human resource practices. She has also worked extensively in local government and with organizations across financial services, engineering, logistics, and the not-for-profit sector.
As an independent consultant, Joan works with leaders and organizations on the practical issues that sit behind performance: how roles are designed, how people work together, and how organizational structures and practices support or get in the way of what the organization is trying to accomplish.
Joan holds a master's degree in psychology from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Kathy Bluestone, Business Operations

She has been an instructor at the Pace English Language Institute in Pleasantville, NY, where she taught classes in business writing, presentation skills, workplace pragmatics, conversation skills, and grammar. Her private English tutoring assignments have included clients at IBM, Siemens, Bayer Healthcare, Swiss Re, Hitachi Metals, and Mercedes USA.
